Young People Improved their Qualifications in the Quality and Resources of Drinking Water with the Initiative of the Energy Training Center and the United Nations Children’s Fund

February 21, 2023. Tbilisi. More than 400 young people received information about the quality and resources of drinking water as a result of the initiative implemented by Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund. The project “Raising Awareness of Youth of the Regions on Drinking Water Quality and Water Resources was implemented in August-November 2022.

The project was implemented in Batumi, Kutaisi, Aspindza, Dedoplistskaro, Tetritskaro, Kazbegi, Khashuri and Gardabani municipalities. Within the framework of the project, young people were trained in the importance of drinking water quality and its characteristics, effective use of water resources and energy security issues. In addition, public lectures were delivered on the empowerment of women in the energy sector and energy as a profession of the future.

More than 400 students from 30 different public and private schools of 8 different self-governments participated in the activities, trainings and public lectures conducted by the project.

About the Energy Training Center: The purpose of the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center existing under the  Georgian   National   Energy   and   Water   Supply   Regulatory  Commission is to raise public awareness of ongoing issues in the electricity, natural gas and water supply sectors, to implement special training courses/programs for the professional development and qualification improvement of employees and other stakeholders in the mentioned sectors, to determine the  priority directions of activities, to exchange experience and knowledge among stakeholders, to conduct research, to prepare scientific-educational projects, to create an information base and organize thematic conferences. At the moment, various training courses are being held at the Center.
